The London based radio station is a brand extension of Monocle Media Company, founded in 2007 by Canadian journalist, designer and entrepreneur Tyler Brûlé (well-known in Switzerland for his corporate design of Swiss International Air Lines). Monocle 24 grew out of the Monocle Weekly, a podcast which first appeared in 2008 and hit download figures as high as 250,000 per month. The 24/7 programme of the radio station started officially in 2011 and focuses mainly on current affairs, business, culture, design, food, hospitality, print media and urbanism. International Radio Festival we welcome the founder of Monocle 24, Paul Noble, who will host a special show featuring music from their legendary live “Midori House” sessions.
